Indian Automotive Company Picks Kaduna State For $20 Million Tractor Assembly Plant

Mahindra Tractors, a subsidiary of Mahindra Automotive Manufacturing Corporation of India, is set to establish a tractor assembly plant in Kaduna state in a bid to making farm machinery accessible to farmers in the country.

The operations manager of the company, Engr. Salihu Mohammed disclosed this on Thursday in Kano at an annual dealers’ conference organised by Spring Field Agro Limited.

He said the plant would become operational in the next six months with assemblage capacity of 2000 pieces of tractors per year.

Mohammed who expressed concern over the challenges farmers go through in accessing farm machineries on yearly basis called on government to create an enabling environment for individuals and cooperative societies to be able to own tractors for maximum capacity utilisation. Read more on this here.
