South Africa may be eager to undo all the wrongs Apartheid created. However, wouldn’t current efforts by the ANC government to equalize access to employment (especially through Black Economic Empowerment, a mandatory 10% job placement policy for blacks) emasculate its competitiveness? There is also a worrying trend to sideline the private sector.
