As former Chadian leader Hissene Habre respectfully got justice he denied his own country men and women, Senegal, the country shamefully holding the fugitive leader has protested what it calls double jeopardy in law for Habre, should the Chadian ruling hold. Quite annoyingly, Senegal wants US$ 43 million to put Habre on trial when it has just passed a law that could try Habre some 18 years after shielding him. Perhaps the US $43 million could be used to compensate victims of Habre’s torture should it be considered at all.
