That is a difficult question to answer in one of the world’s last existing monarchies which has been characterized by profligate spending by its head, King Mswati especially on his numerous wives. The King has been blamed for the country’s poverty and worrying lack of concern for HIV/AIDS epidemic in his country.
The polls are a response to citizen’s pressure for an open society. However, all they got for now are Parliamentary representation not based on partisan interests. So, no multi partyism, but certainly the new constitution guarantees freedom of association.
We can only wish for a fair outcome even as international observers will be monitoring the polls.
