The Ugandan authorities discovered an influx of expired goods into the country by Asian supermarkets operating in the country. The traders simply repackaged the goods and fixed new expiry dates or they easily stamped new dates on the old ones making it impossible for buyers to know or detect any foul play.
The authorities are asking for public and security support to flush out the culprits. The products range from cosmetics, biscuits, sodas and tomato sauce among other consumables.
