Nestlé’s Zimbabwe Dairy Reopens. (BBC)

The international Swiss food giant Nestle closed down its office in Zimbabwe after two of its managers were taken for questioning by police. Ministers wrote to the outfit to assure them of their workers safety, thus the decision to resume work. The firm says, it has been forced to take milk supply from a farm believed to belong to Grace Mugabe, wife of President Mugabe. The farm was seized by white farmers when the controversial farm reform took place.

Nestlé Zimbabwe stopped taking milk from the firm in October and since then, workers have not been confident about their security. The company only decided to resume operations after a written assurance from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce that their business will not be interfered with.
