African Al-Qaeda Demands Swap for French Hostage. (BBC)

A French man Kidnapped by African al-Qaeda from his hotel room in Mali will only be released according to his captives when four of al-Qaeda members are also released. The man Pierre Camatte was kidnapped on the 25th of November. Three Spanish aid workers were also kidnapped four days after the Mr. Camatte, they all since not been seen. The North African branch of al-Qaeda issued a statement on Sunday giving a twenty day ultimatum for the exchange. The group also claims the French and Malian authorities will be responsible for the aftermath if their demand is not met. Others sources reveal the group was also demanding a ransom for Mr. Camattes’ release.

The UK has warned its citizens of venturing to the northern part of Mali.
