Militants in Nigeria’s oil –rich Delta region have struck again with the kidnapping of three British people and a Colombian. The four were taken from the city of Port Harcourt. The region is noted for such kidnappings. The kidnappers will later demand money before the release of the foreigners. The militants use this method to draw attention to the deprived region which they think should be getting more from the proceeds of the oil region.

None of the militants have claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. Militants in the oil-rich region have costs the oil industry millions of dollars over the years.
