One of Ghana’s leading radio stations, CITI FM, reports that Ghana’s Telcoms regulator the “NCA extends SIM card registration by 90 days”.
Let it be known that IMANI is not against any government and its agencies. We are only asking that the right steps be followed when our taxes are involved. Whilst we congratulate the NCA for yielding to reason, it must get legal backing before attempting to deactivate any one’s sim card permanently! However, after the 90-day extension,the NCA must address the larger issue of identity and open the data they have to the public so we can vet ourselves, just as the Electoral Commission does with the voter’s register.
