African Liberty’s Franklin Cudjoe is the only Think Tank Leader in Top 50 Influential Africans List

The prestigious Paris-based, Africa-focussed, magazine – the Africa Report – has just published its list of the world's most influential Africans in the August-September edition of the magazine.

IMANI's Executive Director, Franklin Cudjoe, was the only leader of a think tank or research institution mentioned in the report.

The editors mentioned IMANI's impact-making commentary on various important issues that is now being copied in countries across Africa, such as Nigeria, where the organisation is emulated by other research institutes.

According to the editors of the magazine, they “reached out to their correspondents” in the various countries of Africa “who in turn reached out to their networks on the ground. They “called on partner organisations and publications. The long list stretches into several hundred worthy candidates. Only 50 made the final cut.”

Other influential Africans recognised on the list alongside Franklin Cudjoe are Chimamanda Adichie, the famous novelist; Nasir El Rufai, the former Nigerian Minister of State and good governance campaigner; the Preacher, T.B. Joshua; James Mwangi, the Global Head of the renowned consulting firm, Dalberg; and Femi Otedola, the billionaire businessman and oil tycoon.
