How Would Egypt Enforce Declaring MB a Terrorist Group?

Egypt's government has declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organisation on Wednesday.

The announcement comes a day after a car bomb exploded at a police station in Nile Delta's Mansoura, leaving 16 dead and scores injured.

A cabinet statement said that the declaration means enforcing article 86 of the penal code, which includes life sentences and the death penalty, on the Brotherhood.

As per the declaration, the law will be enforced on:

– Anyone who joins the group or the organisation, or continues to be part of it after the declaration.

– Anyone who takes part in the group's or the organisation's activities or promotes it verbally, in writing, or in any other way.

– Anyone who funds the group or the organisation.

Arab countries that signed the 1998 Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism will be notified with this decision
