AfricanLiberty.org Editor JJ Omojuwa Completes U.S. State Department’s International Visitors Leadership Programme

Popular columnist, public speaker, social commentator and Editor of AfricanLiberty.org, Japheth J. Omojuwa, has successfully completed the International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP), a professional exchange program funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Japheth Omojuwa who is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential media entrepreneurs in Africa and a leading voice for liberty and economic liberalization attended and successfully completed the three-week programme which ran from 6th August to the 26th August.

According the information made available by the US Department of State, International Visitors Leadership Programme participants are current and emerging leaders in government, politics, the media, education, business and trade, nongovernmental organizations and various other fields.

Japheth Omojuwa’s participation at the programme, which focused on Accountability and Transparency in government, involved trips and learning sessions in government, corporate and civil society offices in Washington DC, Sacramento California, Pittsburg Pennsylvania and Boston Massachusetts.

The renowned blogger and public speaker was in a group with 17 other participants from other countries including Italy, Belgium, Taiwan, Uganda, Japan, Liberia, India, Nepal, Congo DR, Morocco, Israel, Macedonia, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland and South Africa.

The International Visitors Leadership Programme was started in 1940 and boasts of 35 current and 300 former Chiefs of State or Heads of Government as alumni.
