Opposition Leader Rejects Namibia Election Results

Namibia’s leading opposition candidate, Panduleni Itula, has refused to accept the results of the country’s recently extended election, citing chaos and alleged foul play during the process. Itula, leader of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), announced that his party would not recognize the election outcome, regardless of the results. He also indicated that legal action would be pursued to nullify the election. This controversy comes as the IPC challenges the 34-year rule of the South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO). To discuss the implications, we are joined by African Liberty writing fellow Uendjii Kandanga, who provides insights into the election’s irregularities, disinformation, and potential impact on Namibia’s political stability.
