David Ricardo

image alt text...Successful stockbroker David Ricardo (1772-1823) was probably the leader of the British school of political economy in the early 19th century. Following Adam Smith, he is often regarded as the theoretician of "comparative advantage", one possible justification for free trade. He was a famous opponent to the protectionist Corn laws.
