#AfricaLF17 South Africa’s Free Market Foundation Wins 2017 Africa Liberty Award

The Free Market Foundation has won the 2017 Atlas Network Regional Liberty Award for Africa for its work on the Khaya Lam Land Reform Project. This was announced on Thursday at the closing dinner of the 2017 Africa Liberty Forum in Johannesburg.

The Regional Liberty Awards celebrate the most successful projects by Atlas Network partners each year. The awards annually recognize think tanks that have made important contributions to improving the landscape for enterprise and entrepreneurship in their regions. Winners of the Regional Liberty Awards will typically receive up to $5,000 in total prizes

The Free Market Foundation, founded in 1975, is an independent public benefit organisation that promotes and fosters an open society, the rule of law, personal liberty, and economic and press freedom.

The Khaya Lam ‘my home’ project aims to secure the property rights of between 5 – 7 million previously dispossessed families in South Africa by giving them the title deeds to their homes.
