Renewable energy as panacea to poverty

Some 50 percent of Nigeria’ population still do not have access to electricity and those who have access are afflicted with consistent blackouts. The electricity crisis troubling Nigeria will continue except the government diversifies the energy sources in industrial, commercial and domestic sectors by embracing new technologies to reduce cost and energy wastage.

Energy crisis has been the reality for decades and it has constrained its development. Nigeria must now embrace profitable paths that other inventive and proactive nations are towing to save their countries from approaching energy catastrophe…..
